Tips to Improve Your Plastic Surgery Instagram Content

Whether you’re new to Instagram marketing or you want to improve your current content, these tips can help you keep your followers engaged with a consistent content strategy. With improved content, you can expect to grow your followers and improve the overall aesthetic of your plastic surgery Instagram content.

Shoot Photos and Videos in Square Format

When it comes to taking photos for your Instagram account, it’s best to shoot your photos in the square format. Although Instagram now allows non-square photos and videos on Instagram, they become cropped when you’re looking at them from a profile perspective. In addition, it can be more difficult to post non-square photos and videos without cropping them too much. Avoid unnecessary cropping by shooting all photos and videos in square format, to begin with.

Focus on Surgery Footage, Not Talking

When you record in the operating room, focus on the surgery rather than the doctor. If you want to include details about the surgery, it’s better to show the surgery footage while listening to the doctor talk rather than watch a video of a doctor talking in a chair. If your doctor finds it difficult to talk during the procedure, film the procedure and then do an audio overlay to give your followers the information they need.

Use Lines or Arrows on Images

If you want to explain where on the body you are working on or show a more dramatic before and after shot, overlay lines or arrows on your image to show viewers what’s going on. This helps viewers see the results in a more dramatic light.

Keep Text Overlay to a Minimum

Using text overlay on videos and images can be beneficial for providing your viewers with more information, however, when overdone, it can be distracting and take away from the visuals. Instagram is picture heavy; therefore, you should focus more on taking photos and videos and less on text overlay.

Text Overlay Suggestions:

  • Watermark with your handle name
  • “Last chance to enter our giveaway”
  • “Swipe right for a shocking result”

Change Your Cover Image on Videos

If you post a video with the default cover image, this might not engage your viewers. We recommend changing it up to the most dramatic part of your video to encourage people to watch it through.
